Paul is
currently the UNITED KINGDOM RACE TEAM CO-ORDINATOR & SHIPPER
and has been since the first race way back in 1997. He also
acts and holds the position as the INTERNATIONAL RACE CO-ORDINATOR
for this race, which is without doubt the greatest, biggest
and most prestigious one-loft race in the world today and
the one that is described as "THE OLYMPIC GAMES IN THE PIGEON
WORLD" and "THE RACE WITH THE PROVEN TRACK RECORD" which is
something the race organisers are very proud of. We are now
into our 16th year and this race has already paid out in excess
of US$25 million American Dollars (£16 million Pounds Sterling)
in prize money and awards to pigeon fanciers literally all
over the world.
Virtually
every year since the race started way back in 1997, the entry
records have been broken, in 2005 a total of 28 countries
sent 5,096 pigeon, in 2006 a total of 28 countries sent 4,649
pigeons, in 2007 a total of 31 countries sent 4,936 pigeons,
in 2008 a total of 26 countries sent 4,902 pigeons, in 2009
a total of 28 countries sent 5,576 pigeons, in 2010 a total
of 32 countries sent 5,610 pigeons, in 2011 a total of 36
countries sent a staggering 6,611 pigeons. Once again the
entry record has been smashed again for the 2012 race and
a total of 36 different countries have entered another record
entry into this top class international one-loft race. Final
figures for the latest race are not yet to hand but will be
added later in the year when official confirmation has been
received from the race organisers AIR SPORT INTERNATIONALE.
This just goes to show pigeon fanciers all over the world
that this is truly the international one-loft pigeon race
that most pigeon fanciers really want to win.
It also
